For those of you who didn't know, Ebby and I took a little vacation to California. We each had five days there. Not all five were together though. Ebby went Friday to Wed., and I went Sun., to Friday. Ebby could only get a few days off of work, so we had to get creative with her five days. It would not have been worth it for her to go Sunday, then turn around and leave Wednesday. So we tacked on a couple days to the front of the trip.
I was supposed to go to a conference during that time but that trip got cancelled. So, I ended up taking the time off anyway, and inviting my wife along.
The kids were not invited on this trip. It was our first official "alone" vacation. We have gone out of town without them before, but not for the purposes of vacating. They stayed with our friend Diane while we were gone.
Anyway, we had a blast. We intentionally planned very few activities. We just wanted to chill out and decompress. Which is exactly what we did. We DID do some activities, but we just left our plans very loose.
Activities included:
Ebby- yard sale-ing w/ Jan.
Ebby- Mani/Pedi w/ Jan.
Both- Bike Ride to Balboa w/ Uncle John
Both- Angel Game w/ the whole fam. and friend Joseph
Both- Relaxing, Playing mucho cribbage
Both- Eating vacation style, (incl. In-n-Out Burger)
Ron- Spending 4 of 5 days at or near the beach
You get the gist. The trip was near perfect. We are both refreshed (and a little tired.)We will post the pictures in the next day or two.
